First Friday Gallery Reception

  • Waldo's & Company 17 Lincoln Square Gettysburg, PA, 17325 United States (map)

Waldo’s is so proud to host the works of Anna Balch. An inspiring creative who’s working hard at building the community of artists in Adams County as a founding member of The Hartley Residence.

Anna Balch was born in Northern Virginia, right outside of D.C.. She was raised by two introverts with a comprehensive craft collection. She frequently took advantage of the tools at her disposal, learning skills both common and obscure including things like sun printing, embroidery, and whittling. After attending college she moved with three friends and one dog to 75 acres of abandoned land in Aspers, PA. She spent the next three or four months being functionally homeless, showering at the YWCA and cooking on a propane stove. With these three friends, she founded The Hartley Residence, a non-profit artist residency program. She plans to be a part of it indefinitely, learn more about it at thehartleyresidence.com.
